SEE CHAPTER 1 HERE
POV: Corey
Day: Day 1, Night time
Of course I have night duty again this year. Of fucking course. Corey thought as he watched students and teachers leave the dining hall. He downed the rest of his coffee - it had some coffee in it despite what people always joked - and packed up the papers that were scattered around him. He had been reviewing his curriculum for the semester, which he had designed to pretty much rant about why everyone is stupid and why Apple products are superior to all. Plus, he built in a solid amount of time for movie days, which made him one of the preferred teachers at the school.
He headed down to his office, shaking his head at the buffoons around him. "Why did I come back here again?" he mumbled, watching Sauce and TJ getting into another heated argument outside of their dorm. He figured Andrew would be over to settle the argument soon - whenever Sauce started acting up, Andrew was always nearby to end it. As he reached his office, he could already hear Andrew threatening to confiscate whatever game was in question at the moment.
He watched as a girl in the school-required uniform - that he helped to design - walked by. Her luscious, chocolate colored hair and bubbly personality intrigued him as she winked in his direction. Oh yeah, that's why I come back. He thought, fiddling with a set of keys while trying to unlock his door. I should talk to Andrew about our policy for relations with over-18 students. It's just archaic at this point.
But, after unlocking his door, it still wouldn't open. "God damnit," he muttered, trying to force the door open. It wouldn't budge.
"God," he pushed.
"fucking," he pushed harder.
"DAMNIT." He all but body slammed the door.
After grumbling to himself and slamming the door behind him, he set his papers down and sat in his computer chair. But, something was off. He looked around but couldn't put his finger on what was different.
Does Corey:
a) Ignore his suspicion that something's wrong and turn on his computer?
b) Look around the room to satisfy his suspicion?
