In an effort to grow the Bottle Crew and expand its capabilities, I wanted to see who might be able to help look into moving away from reliance on Twitch.tv. It wouldn't be a complete abandonment of Twitch. A lot of new viewers come from Twitch and it's good to have content in as many places as possible so we'd be simulcasting the video to Twitch. What I'd like is to be able to make money from the site to finance further expansion, features, etc. This would involve putting ads on the Bottle Crew site, though they'd be as unobtrusive as possible. To do this, though, the stream would have to be hosted, served by an in-house service instead of Twitch. So, if anyone has any ideas, please let Andrew or I know and we'll see if it's viable. I'm posting a few links I found in some cursory research I did recently. We're open to any and all ideas including building a dedicated server for the stream. If you do have an idea, let us know what kind of work would be involved in getting it running, a cost estimate, and any hardware/software that may need to be acquired. We'll review proposals and discuss which would be the best option.
